Where to buy plants in Lubbock, Texas?! If you’ve read our home remodel posts, then you know when we bought in 2020, our landscaping was in dire need of a little TLC! After some trial and error, we quickly learned that shopping at local nurseries in Lubbock was the way to go!
The plants at local nurseries and garden centers in Lubbock survived planting, tended to be less root bound, and were actually meant to be grown in our growing zone! Another perk of buying at a local nursery is the fact that they have knowledge about what they are selling!
If you’re ready to spruce up your flower beds or plant a garden, here’s a list of local places to buy plants right here in Lubbock.
Lubbock Nurseries and Garden Centers

**Make sure to double check before heading to shop! Some local nurseries are only open seasonally, others are open year-round!**
Mary Lee Gardens

Family owned and operated, Mary Lee Gardens has what you need for each season! They have a plentiful stock of everything from flowers, vegetables, shrubs, to trees, and gorgeous pots. They also have fertilizers you may need to support growth in your yard. If you have a question, they are always happy to answer!
J&J Garden Mart

You can’t beat local expertise! J&J Garden Mart provides local customer service at its best! They have beautiful hanging baskets, yard decor, shrubs, and flowers that grow well in our gardening zone.

Ivey Gardens

If you haven’t shopped at Ivey Gardens, then you are in for a treat! Their massive greenhouse features homegrown plants that are absolutely stunning.

Holland Gardens

Another family owned nursery in town, Holland Gardens makes you feel right at home. They carry an extensive selection of seeds, bulbs, mulch, soil, and plants that are suitable for West Texas. In the off season you can meet Santa and snag beautiful Christmas decor.

Little Red Nursery

Conveniently located in the middle of town, Little Red Nursery has a wide selection of both houseplants and outdoor plants. Follow them on Facebook and sign up for their informative classes!

Slide Plant Market

Located just south of town, Slide Plant Market is your go to for vegetable plants and seasonal flowers. They have done the research for you and only sell plants that will thrive in our zone, which is an added bonus!

Flatland Nursery

Also located south of town, Flatland Nursery has a wide variety of flowers, bushes, and trees just waiting to be added to your landscape! In the fall, they have pumpkins and mums galore! They are very responsive through Facebook messenger with any questions you may have!

Tom’s Tree Place

If you’re considering planting a tree, Tom’s Tree Place is the place to go! They are knowledgable and will walk you through caring for your tree. They also have a shrubs, smaller plants, and flowers available as well.

Another garden center in Lubbock that sells homegrown plants is Gardener’s Outlet. This local favorite’s impressive blooms will have you returning year after year! They are always helpful and can answer any questions you may have about the plants you are purchasing.

After visiting each and every one of these plant nurseries, it is safe to say you you won’t run out of options while planting your garden or flower beds! Each nursery has unique characteristics and will have you on your way to watching your yard bloom.
